“The Furnished Room” (from the book The Four Million)– A young man is desperately looking for the girl he has fallen in love with. He decides to rent a furnished room he believes his love had stayed in before.
“The Pimienta Pancakes” (from the book Heart of the West) – Jud Odom suspects that Jackson Bird is courting the girl Jud has fallen in love with, but Bird persuades Jud that he only wants to get an old family recipe to make pancakes.
