Event Details

Join us live on Zoom as we explore how author Beth Anderson brings history to life through her book Lizzie Demands A Seat: Elizabeth Jennings Fights for Streetcar Rights and how this book serves as a powerful example of the fight for social justice in our country. We will also meet educators from the Long Island Museum as they share their 20th century horse-drawn vehicles in addition to other artifacts to help families understand the story’s historical and social context. Registered families will receive a signed copy of the book, activity supplies and a family pass to visit the Long Island Museum. This program is sponsored by the Long Island Museum and Long Island Library Resource Council. One registration per family. You will receive a link to the program in your confirmation email.
