Brentwood Library will be hosting the annual “SHED THE MEDS” DRUG TAKE-BACK DAY EVENT. The event is conducted to help combat abuse & misuse of prescription medications by safely disposing unwanted, unused and expired medications. Prescription and over-the-counter medication including pills, liquids & inhalers will be accepted. Vaping devices & e-Cigarettes without batteries will also be accepted for free disposal. The event is being organized by Suffolk County Community College, Brentwood Community & SCCC Coalition, CASJ (Community Action for Social Justice) and Suffolk County Police Department. CASJ will be conducting on-site Narcan Trainings. Narcan kits will be distributed to each participant after being trained. Family Service League Long Island Prevention Resource Center will be supplying Deterra Bags as well.
