Program Description

Event Details

Walt Whitman once chronicled his own voyage across Long Island, from Brooklyn all the way to Montauk Point. This summer, we will be touring Long Island as well, discovering a bit about the history of the communities and landmarks across the island and meeting some of our local experts and historians.

Walt Whitman Lost and Found - We are still learning more about one of Long Island’s most notable residents, Walt Whitman of Huntington. Literary sleuth Zachary Turpin will introduce us to Walt the advice columnist and Walt Whitman the novelist - just two faces of Whitman uncovered in newly discovered works.  You will receive a link in the reminder email to attend the program.
